Sweet Peas remind me of my childhood in The Netherlands when summers were long and I helped my father in the vegetable garden. Long rows of Sweet Peas with their splendid colours and their frail petals announced a richness of freshly picked peas later in year. The abundance of colours, the fragrances and the overwhelming frivolous image of the sweet peas or Latyrus triggers something deep down in me. It represents life in all it’s beauty. It tells us that no matter how fragile we may seem or how tiny our stems are, we adore being around showing in full spender who we are. |
